Farmington Senator Bill Sharer Endorses Heather Wilson
All 14 Republican New Mexico State Senators Supporting Wilson
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Heather Wilson, Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, announced endorsements today from New Mexico State Senator Bill Sharer (R-Farmington), former State Senator Diane Snyder (R-Albuquerque) and former City of Santa Fe Planning Commissioner Reuben Montes.
With Sharer’s endorsement, Wilson now has the backing of all 14 Republican New Mexico Senators and more than 145 endorsements from community leaders from all corners of the state. In addition to the 35 sitting state legislators, eight former State Senators and 10 former State Representatives have joined United States Senator Pete Domenici, Congressman and former Interior Secretary Manuel Lujan and Congressman Bill Redmond in endorsing Wilson.
State Senator Bill Sharer, Farmington: “Congresswoman Heather Wilson is the obvious choice for U.S. Senate. She has the experience and will be a solid voice for the people of New Mexico. I am happy to offer my endorsement. Heather has the knowledge of the issues, statesmanship and the right positions on critical issues facing our nation.”
Former City of Santa Fe Planning Commissioner Reuben Montes: “New Mexico’s losing a lot of seniority in the Congress. Heather’s experience, knowledge and deep understanding of the complex issues that impact us locally, nationally and globally has and will earn her the respect and admiration of her congressional colleagues and elevate her into key committee assignments and leadership positions. In a GOP-controlled Senate and House, this will help ultimately help restore much needed clout and seniority to our state.”
“I’m very pleased to have earned the support of all 14 Republican New Mexico State Senators and such a broad cross-section of friends and community leaders from every corner of New Mexico,” Wilson said. “I value their friendship, advice and support. Our campaign continues to build momentum and strong grassroots support all across the state.”
